I am going to share my top 3 dating apps picks in 2022 and you’ll be surprised to know that Tinder and POF do not appear once! Not that I have anything against them, but my picks are there for a reason.

Hinge has become increasingly popular over the years. First developed in 2012, it’s not a new app but it grabbed my attention because it puts a huge focus on security.
Q – What’s its best feature?
The security aspect. Although it is like other apps such as Tinder, it looks to match you with users who have mutual friends on Facebook. This means that there is an element of safety attached to it. You can get in touch with those friends and vet your matches first. Ask your friends opinions and how well they know your match, so you don’t feel quite so blind-sided when it comes to meeting face to face.
Q – What makes it stand out?
Its focus is on relationships, not hook-up’s. We all know that certain other apps are brilliant if you’re looking for a ‘quick fix’ but Hinge really does encourage you to build long term relationships.
Q – Who is Hinge aimed at?
It’s clearly focussed on a slightly more mature audience. By that I mean late twenties onwards. Those who are looking for a little more commitment and are security conscious.
Q – What would I rate it out of 10?
It’s a solid 8 from me. There’s not much I don’t like about this app.
Q - Why has it made my top 3?
Again, Bumble isn’t a new app. It’s been around for about 7 years, but it stands out as very different from the others.
Q – What’s its best feature?
That’s a tough one because it has two great features but for this question, I’ll focus on the fact that it’s female led. Women have to make the first move and by that, I mean they have to send the first message. This ensures that women aren’t bombarded.
It’s not just for heterosexual couples though. You are not required to define your identity; it asks who you are interested in. If your preference isn’t a female or male match, it allows all parties to message first.
Q – What makes it stand out?
This is an easy one to answer. It’s not just a dating app? The clever brains behind Bumble have extended its services and it now encourages networking and socialising. This means that if you are looking for a job or want to meet like-minded business owners, you can do so and if you only want to extend your social circle and meet new friends, that’s cool too.
Q – Who is Bumble aimed at?
That’s tricky because I would say it doesn’t have a specific audience. It’s fun so appeals to the younger generation but it has the extra features which appeal to professionals. It’s a winner all round for me.
Q – What would I rate it out of 10?
I’d have to give it a 9. I think they’ve nailed this by having those extra features.
Q - Why has it made my top 3?
That’s easy! This app is taking the world by storm. It’s original, it’s fun and it has a brilliant phycology behind it. FOMO is definitely relevant here!
Q – What’s its best feature?
I want to giggle as I talk about this app. It’s best and only real feature is that it is only available on a Thursday. You quite literally can’t access this app any other day of the week. It’s genius!
Q – What makes it stand out?
Hey, listen, I’m not clueless, this isn’t going to be for everyone. Not everyone wants to be rushed into a decision or decide there and then whether to go on a date that evening or not. But it’s great for those who are sick of looking at pointless matches and wasting their time. They want action (not sure if I’m metaphorically speaking or not) and they want it now!

Can you guess? It’s a 10 from me. This app is unique, it’s fun, it combines so many modern personality traits and is just so out there it’s brilliant! I love it.
